Walk the house room by room, and write down anything with real money or family value. Take a photo of each item, and note who in the family has asked for it.

Before anything leaves the house: photograph valuables, keep keys with as few people as possible, and get an appraisal on anything that may be worth real money. You're responsible for what's in the estate until it's distributed.
